WHAT WE FOUND

No longer benefitting from external funding, the business needed to further commercialise its activities.  In doing so, senior managers had to quickly expand their business development skills along with continuing to develop technical expertise and their skills in managing and developing staff.  This three-pronged focus resulted in a wealth of experience, knowledge and insight that wasn’t being shared with junior managers.  As a result, they felt ill equipped to respond to these challenges.

WHAT WE DID

We designed a Mentoring Skills Programme for senior managers who were keen to learn how they could use mentoring as a means of building capability in the wider business.

WHAT WE DID

We designed a Mentoring Skills Programme for senior managers who were keen to learn how they could use mentoring as a means of building capability in the wider business.

THE RESULTS

  • Positive feedback from mentees who have increased their knowledge, improved skills and built new relationships across different parts of the business.
  • A reduction in silo working, increasing collaboration to develop more compelling client value propositions
  • Although not the original intention, the mentoring programme now supports diversity and inclusion across the group and is now part of the employer value proposition
